Tonight Mel asked Tim why we have belly buttons. He explained that when babies are still growing in their mommies tummies they can't eat with their mouths so they get their food trough a tube called the umbilical chord that goes directly into their stomachs. A few more clarifying questions, a few more clarifying answers later she seemed to get it but was still fascinated with the topic.
Tim left his computer on the sofa so Mel took the liberty to do further research herself. She brought up Google and typed in "
