Mel had a little accident in daycare so they put her in the only clothes that fit. She hates dresses but looked pretty cute in this too-small number. Even better with the Converse-like sneakers.

All the pillows and blankets Mel could find were used to make the roof of the doghouse. Dad IS the doghouse underneath.

Max has been pulling up from reclining position and we're taking it as a sign he wants to sit up. That's what the Exersaucer is for. He's still a little wobbly so I've put padding around him.

This was before Halloween when Mel tried on the Barney suit for the first time. She wanted so much to see the back that she chased her tail like a puppy dog. I tried to recreate it for the video and it wasn't as funny. She does report that her tail is "doing fine".

Worms!

Sorry... a sideways video again.
We went to a fall festival at a nature center. The nice guy with a vermiculture display let the kids dig in and play with the dirt and worms. I'd be surprised if any worms survived the invasion.

Holding Max

I asked Mel if she wanted to "hold" Max when we first brought him home and she refused. Out of the blue today she asked to hold him. She tried to pick him up herself. Ack! She is so sweet with him and shows no signs of jealousy (yet). She seems to willingly share me with him. When he cries she speaks for him..."Max wants mama milk." She without protest lets me leave her during our bedtime routine so I can nurse Max. Before she would whine when I'd leave to go to the bathroom.

Max weighed 9 lb 8 oz and was 21 and 3/4 inches long at his doc visit. I think they didn't stretch him out enough when they measured him at birth. You can't grow 2 3/4" in two weeks. He took another bath today and loved it this time. No crying spells so far this evening. Maybe a bath every night!
