Not Your Hair

Mel has been making progress on the proper use of pronouns. She used to say things like "hold you" when she wanted to be picked up. When everyone keeps referring to her as "you" why wouldn't she refer to herself as "you" too? She has been gradually making progress but this morning she spit out a pretty complex sentence that took me off guard. She was playing with my hair and trying to put it on her own head. I displayed mock outrage to which she replied "No mama. Your hair is for my head not yours. It's mined!".
